The Red Cross have funds available for people looking to run an event or start an initiative to help those affected by flooding in our area. This fits well with Hope 2008 and might be the source of funds your initiative needs. The way to find out more is to contact Hull CVS (details follow). I have copied below an email that I received this week:
British Red Cross flood relief money available to communities for social activities
Hull CVS are actively seeking groups of flood-hit residents to apply for up to £1000 (or possibly more, by negotiation) towards social activities. Recently, monies have been granted to fund a kids’ football club, a trip out for a local women’s centre, a Christmas party and line dancing sessions.
The application process is straight forward and we can advise you on any aspect of this, should you need some support.
For further information and an application form, please contact Mike Scott on 01482 324474 or email mscott@hull-cvs.co.uk
